Nobody who listens to country music should not know about George Jones and his song “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” It was released in April of 1980 as the lead single from his album “I Am What I Am.” It was written by Bobby Braddock and Curly Putman and was George’s first number 1 single in six years and it stayed at number 1 for 18 weeks.
