Catching Up With James Dupre At CMA Fest 2018 – CMA Interview

Two years have gone by since we last caught up with a unique artist whose style I truly love. CMA Fest came along, and so did the name, James Dupre. The Bayou Chicot, LA was a contestant on the NBC hit show “The Voice” who managed to get all four chairs to turn, right then you know there are good things to come.

James didn’t really start getting into music until college at the University of Louisiana Monroe, where he was studying meteorology. “I saw an ad for a backup singer in a band. One thing led to another and I started singing and teaching myself guitar and writing. I always knew I could sing. Well, everyone thinks they can sing, but that’s when it hit me that music was really in me.”

His start as a YouTube sensation had quite the following as early as 2007, and James was invited to perform on “Ellen” in 2010 before landing a record deal in 2011. His “Stoned To Death” album was highly successful, bringing us his current release, “Hurt Good.” James stays busy in his career as well as parent to four children.

Now it is time for you to sit back and catch up with us on what James has been doing since we last got together, what is going on for the rest of the year and whatever else we can think of. Make sure to go to iTunes to capture his music.
