When you meet an artist that you hit it off with and really enjoy, you hope you can catch up with them again. Enter one of our favorites, Matt Rogers. We first introduced him to you last year during CMA Fest and when the opportunity came about for this year, we did not hesitate to say YES!! Matt has had a busy year and we wanted to share with you what he has been up to.
The Eatonton, GA native left a lucrative career in the medical field to pursue music full-time and has never looked back. The road is not always easy for any independent artist, but his perseverance, and great talent has allowed him to make a mark in country music. Matt released his EP, ‘Richest Place On Earth,’ in May of 2017, bringing such great songs as “Britches,” Forgettin’ You Was Fun,” and the title track which now has a newly released video. Robert K. Oermann selected the title track of Matt’s EP, ‘Richest Place On Earth,’ for Music Row’s DisCovery Award. He praised the track saying, “Extremely well written and sung with fire and conviction. Play this.”
The praise and accolades have not gone to his head. He is steadfast in playing 200+ shows a year, opening for such favorites as Cole Swindell, Clint Black and LOCASH. He even caught the attention of legendary country artist T.G. Sheppard, “[Matt’s] the real deal…the total package. [He’s] a great singer, a great picker and a great songwriter.” Our sentiment exactly. So, thanks to Matt for coming back to see us this year and enjoy a young hard-working man we have come to love.
