Some say these two artists were a surprise pairing. Despite that thought, it is a perfect match. Show Dog Nashville label mates Krystal Keith and Lance Carpenter continue to work together in support of their head-turning duet “Anyone Else.” The song has already created a significant story in streaming and media attention to accompany its out-of-nowhere creation, and now the pair is taking it on the road.
Hailed as a “sweeping, romantic anthem” (The Boot) fueled by the pair’s “unique vocal chemistry” (Taste of Country), “Anyone Else” brings more than one million streams and steady CMT rotation to the table as it reaches radio in May. Meanwhile, the song has propelled an increasing demand for performances from the two artists, who also happen to be busy with their own projects.
Nevertheless, Krystal and Lance will perform at the opening date of Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been A Cowboy Tour XXV” April 6 at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. The two will take the stage during Toby’s set to perform “Anyone Else” with his band. The inadvertent duo will then open Toby’s July 13 show at the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater in Hinckley, Minnesota.
As in the Minnesota show, Krystal and Lance will perform a dual set of their individual music as well as “Anyone Else” and other combined performances during CMA Fest in Nashville June 8. Previously announced appearances include radio row at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards next month in Las Vegas, and a recent performance for the long-running concert and web video series Muscle Shoals to Music Row Live.
First heard as a demo by then-independent artist/songwriter Lance, “Anyone Else” took on a life of its own when he asked his frequent writing partner Krystal if she’d take a shot at a duet vocal. The recording earned strong reactions from each of their respective managers, as well as Show Dog Nashville owner/founder/superstar Toby Keith. Ultimately, the song led to Lance’s signing with the label and the song’s release to the public earlier this year. Simultaneously, Krystal Keith is preparing for the release of her second Show Dog Nashville project, while Lance Carpenter continues work on his solo debut for the label.
