Lately I have been sidetracked by numerous things going on but when I get caught up I find so much I have missed. This time I hit the jackpot in one of my finds and it restores my faith that real country is out there to be heard and put on notice. Enter the young traditional country artist Randall King, a talent that will make you stand up and pay attention.
From the West Texas plains of Hereford, Randall King, a 4th generation “hay hauler” and son of a trucker, brings modernized neo-traditional/honky-tonk to life. His writing reflects his appreciation of his songwriting heroes, Haggard, Whitley & Jackson, and is characterized with a voice that rings true country. Randall moved to Lubbock, TX where he began to brew his own songwriting style. His traditional country roots evolved into the EP “Another Bullet” which contains songs solely written and produced by Randall. His single “Hard Livin’ Illene” is a direct reflection of him finding himself and his modernized honky-tonk style.
Randall recently released his newest single, “Tuggin’ On My Heartstrings.” This up-tempo track relates to all men who reluctantly trade in their bachelor ways for their new-found love. The song is the first single off his self-produced and self-titled forthcoming album, which is slated to be released April 27, 2018.
Please take some time to catch all Randall’s music on iTunes, step back, like I did and take it all in. You will be impressed with what you find. For more information go to randallkingmusic.com
