There are many ways to describe the talent of Ashley Monroe, and flawless is on the top of that list. From her solo career, to her time spent with the Pistol Annies’ she has truly made a mark in the music industry. She has been a bit quiet over the months due to being a new mom and busy working on her new project. Now she is back and unveiled details surrounding the April 20th release of her fourth album, ‘Sparrow,’ which was recorded with producer Dave Cobb in Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A.
Her current single, “Hands on You,” from the album is a sultry bluesy sound that is part of who she is. Ashley very wisely picked some talented co-writers such as Waylon Payne, Brendan Benson and Angaleena Presley. Having Dave Cobb on board was a win/win.
“I knew I wanted to work with Dave,” Ashley says of the famed producer, who has guided the albums of Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell and Mary Chapin Carpenter, among dozens of others. “All of his records are consistently awesome and classic, timeless, old and new all in one.”
‘Sparrow’ is the follow-up to Ashley’s, ‘The Blade’ which won critical acclaim upon its release. We are looking forward to this new project and there are hints from Miranda Lambert that a new Pistol Annie’s album may be do out this year. Now that is another win/win.
