There is a young class of female country artists who are making waves and Megan (Linville) Myrick is right in step. She is living proof of that old adage, ’the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree’, as she has found her path following in the footsteps of her late grandfather, who made his living crafting songs for many of Nashville’s notables.
Megan is no newcomer to Nashville’s music scene as evidenced by her first, “self-penned” album, recorded at age 19, under the production of Grammy winning John Carter Cash. She released a new EP in 2017 titled, ‘This Old Town,’ which can be found on iTunes.
Some of her past performances have included; The Cincinnati Reds, The Indy 500, Atlanta Braves, Watkins Glen International NASCAR, Daytona Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, The Allstate Brickyard 400 Sprint Cup Series, The Kentucky Derby, The Kansas City Royals, Tioga Downs Resort and Casino, The Chicago White Sox and The Nashville Super Speedway, and Songwriters’ Festivals, such as Blast on Bay, The Panama City Songwriters’ Festival, The Smoky Mountain Songwriters’ Festival, The Endless Summer Music Series in Destin, Florida, and The Key West Songwriters’ Festival.
Megan’s rendition of “Wrapped up in Love” was featured in “Snow Bride,” Hallmark’s most-watched “made for television movie”, that aired from 2013 to 2016, and it appeared in the 2016 Hallmark movie “Hearts of Christmas.” I had the opportunity to catch a live performance by Megan and this is one artist that you all need to pay attention to. With her smooth angelic voice, her charm and talent she will surely get to the head of that class very soon. You can keep up with Megan at meganlinville.com. and on her Facebook page.
