Taking us back to the roots of Country Music, Paul Bogart is sharing his new single “All that Cowboy Jazz” with the world stealing our hearts with a steel guitar as opposed to an electric guitar. Some say he is a young guy with an old soul since his brand of Country music is more like Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash than nearly anyone else you hear on Country Radio today.
Paul started out competing in the American Quarter Horse Association at just 12 years old. He won several world championships since his first competition but Country Music was always in his heart and after graduating from Rogers State University (and a little advice from Garth Brooks) he packed his bags and moved to Nashville. His talent has also made an impact on other artists in Nashville.
“He is the authentic voice of an audience of westerners who’ve been overlooked by contemporary music,” says Sony Nashville recording artist Trent Willmon of Bogart’s ability to reconnect country music to its roots.
The new release was co-written with Country Radio Broadcast Hall of Famer Bill Whyte and multi-instrumentalist Zach Runquist, and Paul lists the let-loose, line-dance-potential number as a personal favorite from the album.
“I wrote ‘All That Cowboy Jazz’ with two good friends and it’s definitely one of my favorites on the album. We shot the music video back home in Oologah, OK and the hometown crowd filled up the Iron Horse Saloon — partly in support of me and my music and I’m sure partly just to see how a Nashville music video comes about! The song is a toe tapper and the video brings a smile every time!” said Paul.
To add to his ever-growing resume Paul has recently been included in the first round of Grammy nods. That alone is a big KUDOS, but we are hoping for the wins.
Whether he is on the back of horse or on a stage in front of thousands of people, he is a down to earth guy who will make you smile with how genuine he is with his songs and his smile. Paul Bogart plays the kind of music we all grew up on that will make you want to dust of your boots and hit the dance floor and his new album “Leather” is the fresh air we have all been longing for.
