David Lee Murphy Featured In Throwback Thursday

Our Throwback Thursday song today is David Lee Murphy’s “The Road You Leave Behind.”  It was released in July 1996 as the second single from his album ‘Gettin’ Out The Good Stuff’ peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

David Lee had some success as a singer in the 90’s, including the No. 1 smash hit, “Dust On The Bottle.” He has outdone that with his success as a songwriter with such hits as, “Living In Fast Forward” by Kenny Chesney, “Big Green Tractor” by Jason Aldean and “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” by Thompson Square just to name a few. David is also responsible for the current single, ‘Bar At The End Of The World” by Kenny Chesney.

David Lee stays busy as he continues to tour and write those hits. You can find more info about him at his website

As time marches on, I hope you will come back next Thursday for another Throwback song.
