Vince Gill, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait Featured In Triple-Shot Tuesday

There’s line in a Garth song that says, “Sometimes the best cowboys ain’t cowboys at all.” Since we did cowboy songs last week, I thought we would have a Triple Shot of songs about cowgirls this week, so hang on and enjoy.

Vince Gill’s “What the Cowgirls Do” was released in July 1994 as the second single from his album ‘When Love Finds You.’ The hit reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and was written by Vince Gill and Reed Nielsen.

Brooks & Dunn’s “Cowgirls Don’t Cry, was released in October 2008 as the fourth and final single from their album ‘Cowboy Town.’  The song, written by Ronnie Dunn and Terry McBride was re-recorded and re-released after one month on the charts as a duet with Reba McEntire. It was Brooks & Dunn’s 41st top 10 hit on the Billboard country charts and Reba’s 56th.

George Strait’s “How ’bout Them Cowgirls” was released in August 2007 as the fourth single from his album ‘It Just Comes Natural.’  Written by Casey Beathard and Ed Hill, the song reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

I’m not going to be able to sleep because I’m so excited for our Triple Shot next week.
