James Robert Webb is doing something he loves; being a singer songwriter and being darn good at it. The Oklahoma native is also a practicing physician in Tulsa where he specializes in bone health and helping patients that spinal surgery can’t fix. The care he shows for his patients readied him for the love he has for his fans who have embraced his music.
His current sophomore album, ‘Honky Tonk Revival’ has made a large impact on country music and gained James an even larger fan base from his debut album, ‘Pictures.’ His feet are firmly planted in the traditional side of country music and he proved it with his latest single, “Six Strings & The Truth,” which was ranked by iTunes Country as one of the top pre-sales upon its debut.
James has established MusicCan, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation designed to support music education among children, extend help for veterans and strengthen his longtime commitment of giving back. He has also been a part of the Middle Tennessee-based Christmas 4 Kids benefit events to help provide for and bring hope to underprivileged kids for the holidays. Last fall, James teamed with Darryl Worley’s foundation by performing and presenting a check at Worley’s Tennessee River Run benefit event in support of the Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center in DW’s hometown of Savannah, TN.
I did not think he could top his first album, but ‘Honky Tonk Revival’ has surpassed every expectation. CMA Fest was very busy for James, but glad we could get some time to visit again this year. It is always a gift to us to enjoy his company and know that traditional country music will thrive with his continued career. Sit back and relax with James Robert Webb.
