Paul Overstreet Featured In Throwback Thursday

Our Throwback Thursday song today is Paul Overstreet’s “Daddy’s Come Around” which he co-wrote with Don Schlitz.  It was released in November 1990 as the first single from his album “Heroes” and was his only No. 1 country hit as a solo artist.

Paul recorded 10 studio albums between 1982 and 2005, and charted 16 singles on the Billboard country charts. He may be best known as a prolific songwriter who has written No. 1 hits for Randy Travis, Blake Shelton, The Judd’s, Kenny Chesney and Keith Whitley. Paul wrote or co-wrote 27 top 10 songs and has won two Grammy Awards and ACM and CMA Song of the Year Awards in 1987 and 1988. He was named the BMI Songwriter of the Year five straight years, from 1987–91, an achievement on music row that has not been achieved before or since.

Paul is still writing and his talent has been passed down to his children, who are singers and songwriters as well. For more information the artist, you can go to his website

The day will be good if you join us next Thursday for another Throwback song.
