Martina McBride In Throwback Thursday Feature

I remember getting into trouble quite a bit as a kid when I would be told not to do something and I would do it anyway.  That same attitude has also helped me quite a bit when someone would tell me there was something I wouldn’t be able to do and  I would prove them wrong by doing it anyway.   Our Throwback song today by Martina McBride takes the positive spin on doing things that people don’t think you can or should do.

“Anyway” is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist. The song was released in November 2006 as the lead-off single from her album “Waking Up Laughing.” Martina wrote the song with The Warren Brothers and it marks the first time in her career that she has co-written one of her own singles.  It is an inspirational song based on a favorite poem of Mother Teresa’s, written by Kent Keith, which he originally titled, “The Paradoxical Commandments.” “Anyway” was nominated for the 2007 CMA Single of the Year and Song of the Year awards.

Lauren Alaina performed the song on the 10th season of American Idol on Top 4 Inspirational Week in 2011. That seems pretty fitting because Lauren is out on tour with Martina now on the “Love Unleashed Tour.”  Martina keeps a busy tour schedule and she released an amazing album in 2016 called “Reckless.”

I hope you’ll answer when I call your name for next week’s Throwback Thursday song.
