As we kick off February and Valentine’s month, I chose a song that reminds me of what falling in love feels like. I fell in love with the girl who would become my wife the minute I saw her when I was 16. The problem was, she didn’t know that until several years later! As it says in this Randy Travis song, “it took a little time to get up to speed, to find the confidence and the strength I need.” I hope you’ll enjoy the songs as much as I do.
“Look Heart, No Hands” was written by Trey Bruce and Russell Smith. It was released in November 1992 as the second new single for his “Greatest Hits, Volume 2” compilation. The song spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard country singles charts.
On February 8, 2017, the stars will gather at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for a tribute to one of country music’s finest. The event, titled “1 Night. 1 Place. 1 Time: A Heroes and Friends Tribute to Randy Travis,” will feature performances from Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Rodney Atkins, Travis Tritt, Jamey Johnson, Mark Chesnutt, Montgomery Gentry, Michael Ray, Ricky Skaggs, Michael W. Smith, Chris Young, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner, Phil Vassar, Garth Brooks and many more. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Randy Travis Foundation non-profit that raises money for stroke research and rehabilitation
You’ll be saying you meant to if you don’t check back next Friday for another Flashback song that offers some Valentine’s advice.
