Sawyer Brown, Martina McBride, & Montgomery Gentry Featured In Thankful Triple-Shot Tuesday

I like to say that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it’s the one when you can give your family the bird and tell them to stuff it. But seriously, I think it is important to take time to say thank you and remember that no matter what struggles you may be going through, in some way you can realize that you are blessed and lucky.

Sawyer Brown’s “Thank God For You” was written by Mac McAnally and their lead singer Mark Miller.  It was released in June 1993 as the lead single from their album, “Outskirts of Town.” The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Martina McBride’s “Blessed” was written by Brett James, Troy Verges and Hillary Lindsey.  It was released in October of 2001 as the second single from her “Greatest Hits” album. In March 2002, it became her fifth No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

Montgomery Gentry’s “Lucky Man” was written by David Lee and Dave Turnbull.  It was released in January 2007 as the second single from their album “Some People Change.”  The hit reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and was the duo’s third No. 1 single.

Check back next Tuesday for a Triple Shot of songs about another side of d-i-v-o-r-c-e.
