Dave and Whitney Are An Energetic Talented New Duo – CMA Fest CMM Interview

When you read about country duo, Dave and Whitney you are curious as to how exactly they match up and is Whitney as spunky as they say. I can tell you this: Whitney IS as spunky as they say and Dave is the calming force…the pairing is very well matched. The Indiana natives met at the age of twenty-three, when they were introduced by mutual friends at a gathering in Daytona. Much to their surprise they learned that they lived just twenty-three miles apart during their entire childhood. That chance meeting in Florida is the chapter of their beginnings.

Whitney was into athletics throughout school and had ambitions to pursue a career in the medical serices field but a teacher from another congregation saw Whitney sing at Hanover United Methodist Church and knew where she felt Whitney should be. A self-described country boy, David spent much of his time following in the footsteps of his dad to watch him perform at various “animal clubs” (Moose Club/Elks Club/Eagles Club). His father taught him the basics of guitar, but it quickly became evident the young teenager was simply born to strum.

The sparks flew after that chance meeting and the duo was created in 2012. Venturing out on their own under Chelsea Creek Entertainment they immediately played 32 states in 40 days and went on to sharing stages with Randy Houser, David Nail, Eli Young Band, Sara Evans and more. Their first EP, “Alibi” was released in July of 2015 and the title track was released as a single in October of the same year.

Their devotion to each other and their careers will leave you with the same excitement that they hold when together on or off the stage. Sit in on our CMA Fest visit and you will understand. (P.S. I honestly have worked on the background noise, once again close quarters; but we still continued to have fun!)
