There is a certain background standard per say on what a real country artist should have, they should love family, God, the USA, their friends, but most of all have strong faith in themselves to bring all these together in a country song. Josh Goodlett has all of the above and that is why this young man deserves our Wednesday’s Watch spotlight.
A native of Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana farm country, Josh grew up with “old timey” traditions teaching him hard work ethics and knowing that to be responsible in your life is rewarding. This father of five draws inspiration from his faith and joys as well as the trials of daily life.
“Why You Gotta Be That Way,” written by Bobby E. Boyd, Brad Wolf, and Philip Moore is Josh’s first radio release from his upcoming album due out later this summer. The song tells the story of a strong sit down with a friend who is acting like a jerk regarding his gal and who should be paying attention to her and not sitting in the bar with his buddy. That is truth in a country song. His frequent co-writer is Nashville hit-maker Bobby E. Boyd, who is responsible for chart-topping songs by Alabama, Rascal Flatts and others. Josh is no stranger to the road, playing over 100 shows in Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee last year, sharing the stage with acts Kip Moore, Will Hoge, Tyler Farr and Shooter Jennings.
Josh Goodlett is refreshing, insightful in his song-writing and taking a stand to stay true to his faith and beliefs in making country music the way it should be. His new song is available on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Stop by to learn where Josh may be playing in your area and keep up with this up and coming artist:
