Mo Pitney — “Wednesday’s Watch”

There are so many artists in country music today many of you may not know or some that just need that extra boost as they are making their way through. We are giving you a chance to find out who they are by bringing you “Wednesday’s Watch.” This will be a new weekly feature where we spotlight a particular artist.

As we start out we would also like to invite all of you to submit someone you are a fan of and would like to see us highlight. They can be a new artist or someone who has been around for a long time. So get your thinking caps on and you can tag us on twitter @CMMnow with your submission and hashtag #Wednesdayswatch.

On our preview week I have selected an artist who was brought to my attention by some good friends in radio who promoted him on Facebook. I had seen his name before but thought, “Wow, another artist trying to make his path.” Glad I finally clicked on his music… this kid IS good.

Let me introduce Cherry Valley, IL native Mo Pitney. His debut song “Country” is aptly titled due to his love for it along with making a statement on who he is. Coming from a musical family his love of music started at an early age of six by learning the drums then at age twelve picking up a guitar. He was encouraged by a songwriting friend to move to Nashville where he received early interest by record labels and was soon signed by Curb Records.

Mo is free to be who he is, record the way he wants along with having the musicians to allow it all to happen. Even at the young age of 18 this young man has stories to tell and will spin them into hits. If the standing ovation he received at his first Grand Old Opry appearance is any indication, he will succeed. Check out his website and I hope you continue to follow his path in country music.
